01
The challenge
The manufacturer runs frequent small batches of precision components, with documented set-ups for each job. Long changeovers made small lots uneconomic, and operators wanted a set-up they could verify quickly.
Parts are small, so compact fixtures and a low plate height mattered.
02
The solution
Compact Pitch 52 plates with a 12 mm clamping stud (HL02724) were fitted on each machine, torqued to the 10–17 N·m range. Support pallets carry each job so set-ups can be prepared off the machine.
A Compact Grip Vise was added for the smallest parts, sharing the same reference.
03
The results
- Batch changeover time
- 25 → 6 min
- First-off parts accepted
- 82% → 96%
- Set-ups prepared while the previous job runs
- Off-machine

Customer quote
“Preparing the next job off the machine changed how we plan the day. The machine just waits for the next pallet.”
