Why zero-point clamping?
Reduce setup time. Improve accuracy. Keep production moving.
What is zero-point clamping?
A zero-point system locates and clamps a fixture or pallet to the same reference point every time. Clamping studs on the fixture lock into plates or modules on the machine table, so you change setups without re-indicating.
INNGRIT plates and modules position to within 0.005 mm, and every setup returns to the same datum.
- A
- Fixture or pallet. Carries the workpiece.
- B
- Clamping stud. Fixed to the fixture and locked by the module.
- C
- Zero-point module. Mounted on the machine table.
- D
- Datum. The stud seats at the same position every time.
What you gain
-
Faster changeovers
Modular clamping reduces setup effort and gets machines producing sooner.
-
Repeatable positioning
Repeatable zero-point location supports stable, accurate machining. Positioning accuracy is below 0.005 mm.
-
Automation ready
Workholding designed to connect with robotic handling and modern cells.
With the Robotic Quick Exchange Arm, workpiece changeover time is reduced by 90%.
Why it matters now
Five shifts in manufacturing make fast, repeatable fixture change worth more each year.
Automation
The zero-point interface decides whether unmanned operation works.
Labour shortages
Faster, repeatable setup compensates for the shortage of skilled CNC operators.
High-mix, low-volume
Smaller batches and more frequent changeovers raise the cost of slow setup.
5-axis machining
Collision-free, low-profile workholding becomes a requirement, not an upgrade.
Faster changeovers
Setup time is now read as capacity.
Common questions
Which system is right for my application?
It depends on your machine, workpiece and how often you change over. Share your setup and our engineers will recommend a configuration.
Can INNGRIT integrate with automation?
Yes. The Robotic Quick Exchange Arm lets one robot switch between grippers, jigs and hand tools, with repeatable accuracy up to 0.005 mm.
